As part of the 10th Háskóli Íslands Student Conference on the Medieval North in April 2021, we are delighted to invite you to the Keynote Lecture with Dr Luke John Murphy: ‘I Have a Cunning Plan’: Strategy, Flexibility, and Reality in Early Research Careers." Luke was an organizer of the very first HÍ Student Conference as well as a board member of the Network of Early Career Researchers in Old Norse (“NECRON”) from 2017-2020.
The lecture is free of charge and open to everyone interested.
The meeting will be held via Zoom.

Dr Luke John Murphy is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Archaeology at the University of Iceland. He is working on a book about religious sacrifice in first-millennium Britain, and on a project about the role of ‘ritual props’ in periods of religious change. He has previously held postdoctoral positions at the University of Leicester (UK), Stockholm University (Sweden), and the University of Iceland; as well as having studied in the UK, Denmark, and Iceland.
