I love this kind of singing with a very straight tone and parallel parts. What kind of flute is played there? At least it sounds like a flute but either the mouthpiece is really and litterally inside the player's mouth or he is miming. It sounds a bit like a classical flute and thus may be played lie blowing on a bottle rim?

Have you ever heard of the Milan Milosevic Trio?
'Pearls and Yarn' is their CD I've got and I have been listening to it on and off for months. It is traditional but in the booklet there is written that it is 'ethno-classical Serbian, Kosovo and Macedonian music'.

Clarinet, double bass and guitar with an occasional feamle voice. I really love that music.

I'm only ever on You-Tube when I follow one of the links given here. So if anybody else can help out with a link, please do.

Agree. If you look at flutes they have oblique hole got and sound reproduction is usually carried out by the air flow from month on the top of the hole. So its rim is so interesting for its form.

Uh, no, have not. I'd just met Serbian songs because I couldn't find them in I-net so when I did that - coming here for charing with you all, my friends. But I must looking for this group you wrote.
But don't forget Serbia is christianic country and really folk/heathen groups and music is very rare.
Can you send me some of their music mp3, please?

ich bin seit meiner Kindheit auch ein Freund dieser Gesänge!

In diesem Fall allerdings muss ich mal klugscheißen: Das, was Du hörst, ist nicht das, was Du siehst! Von dem gezeigten Chor haben allenfalls zwei Mädels die zweistimmigen Parts gesungen, wahrscheinlich auch nur eine. Und dieser "straight tone", wie Du das nennst, der ja eigendlich charakteristisch für slavische Chöre ist, ist hier allerdings einem voll aufgedrehten Pitch-Controll geschuldet, den man von Cher, Madonna oder Hannah Montana kennt! Der sorgt in der Regel dafür, dass kleinere Stimmungenauigkeiten ausgeglichen werden. Dreht man das Ding voll auf, dann bekommt man einen Effekt, so dass die Stimme wie vom Computer klingt. Das wäre wohl hier nicht nötig gewesen, daher schade an der Stelle!
