It's the german obsession with cleanliness and order. One topic, one thread at a time. Only when this one is maxed out (I don't know how what the limit is), it is closed and a new one started. I'm not sure who introduced this obsession to our ancestors, but ever since my parents forced me to clean up my room, I suspected it was the Romans. (Asterix was among the earliest literature I consumed.)

We do not want two threads with the same name in this forum to keep information together and people don't need to read two threads if they want to join the discussion. It isn't that necessary with the kind of thread I closed but there you are. For me, all threads are equal.
And may I remind you that the chief goddess of order and cleanliness rewards her faithful children with peace of mind, the absence of chaos created by searching for information you cannot find in a jungle of threads, and also a general tranquility throughout their moderation services for the heathen community.
